I have been a practicing attorney for over 24 years. During that time, I have held leadership positions in private, public and nonprofit organizations practicing in the areas of human resources, compliance, EEO, labor, government affairs and most notably education law. I have worked primarily on the management side of the aisle helping organizations defend against litigation, investigate employee complaints or advocate a position. Initially, my work centered on conflict; taking one side and going for the win. Over the years, I have learned that most conflict stems from poor interpersonal communication and the lack of knowing or wanting to understand diversity, work style differences, your coworkers, your managers, your neighbor, community or even yourself. I have been on a quest for the past few years to learn and discover specific tools designed to address this dilemma.
In 2010, I opened Forbes Solutions LLC., a law firm that offers superior employee relations consulting, legal services, and products with the commitment to help individuals and organizations find courageous solutions for a better outcome. In addition to traditional legal services, I provide individual and team performance development coaching. I work directly with leaders to build participatory and inclusive workplace environments. I am a skilled facilitator, trainer and I enjoy helping organizations design effective and creative workshops, planning sessions or to host a conversation that gets at the heart of what matters.
